Our mission

Jesus taught us that the greatest commandment was to “love God with all your heart, soul, and mind” and the second greatest commandment was to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:36-40). Some of Jesus’ last words to his disciples were to “go into all the world and share the good news with all creation” (Mark 16:15). That’s why our vision at AFA is to love God, love people, and share Christ. It’s a huge task to reach the entire world and not one that can be completed by any individual, but takes everyone working together to accomplish the task ahead of us.

Teamwork makes the
Dream Work

When we consider everything that is included in the vision for AFA - leading, serving, mentoring, praying, hospitality, evangelizing, etc. - the "to-do" list can seem overwhelming. There is a lot of work that needs to be done and it requires a team. Jesus understood the enormity of His Kingdom work and spoke about it with His disciples in Matthew 9:37-38, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into the harvest field." Jesus told us to pray for workers so we have prayed, and we encourage you to pray too.

Ask God, "What is my role in the vision for AFA?" We are all gifted with a purpose and when we come together as a team, we aren't just filling in gaps. When we come together, we are fulfilling our purposes and working together to reach our community and our world.
